The first double decker tourist bus line in Romanian capital Bucharest, called 'Bucharest City Tour' will be inaugurated on Thursday, July 28, following a partnership between the country's Tourism Ministry and the Public Transport Company in Bucharest (RATB). This is a premiere in Bucharest and comes soon after the city got its first 23 night bus routes.

The bus will ride daily between 10,00 and 22,00 hours on the route Piata Presei Libere, Muzeul Satului, Arcul de Triumf, Piata Victoriei, Calea Victoriei, Palatul Parlamentului, Piata Unirii, Universitate, Piata Romana, Piata Victoriei, Piata Charles de Gaulle, Soseaua Kiseleff and back to Piata Presei Libere. The double deckers will be personalized with Romania's country logo and slogan, 'Explore the Carpathian Garden!'. The new route will be served by four double decker buses, each with 77 seats. The route is 15.4 km long and should take 50 minutes. Buses serving this new line will arrive every 15 minutes.

The price of a ticket on this line is of RON 25 (the equivalent of EUR 5.8) for adults and RON 10 (some EUR 2.2) for children up to 14 years old. The transport card bought for this fee is valid for 24 hours and can be bought from the bus.

Tourists will be able to see several tourist landmarks in Bucharest while riding the double decker: Casa Presei Libere, Herastrau Park, The Village Museum, the Triumphal Arch, the Antipa Museum, the Geology Museum, the Romanian Peasant's Museum, the Victoria Palace, the Romanian Athenaeum, the National Art Museum, the Cretulescu Church, the Telephones' Palace, the CEC Palace, the National Museum of History, the Parliament Palace – the People's Palace, the Romanian Patriarchy, Manuc's Inn, the Old Court, the University, the Coltea Hospital, the Bucharest Museum, the National Theater, the Literature Museum and the Academy for Economic Studies.
