Bucharest mayor makes official visit to Tokyo
Bucharest’s general mayor Gabriela Firea is in Tokyo in this period, for an official visit that will end on October 27.
During this visit, Firea will meet with senior Japanese officials, with whom she will talk about issues such as traffic management, smart-city, urban planning, seismic risk reduction, modernization of the heat supply system, the development of green energy for hospitals, and common projects in the field of education, according to a press release from the City Hall, cited by local News.ro.
She will also have a meeting with representatives of the Japanese company Itochu Corporation. At the end of last year, the Bucharest City Hall signed a memorandum with this company for the modernization of the centralized heat supply system in Bucharest. The investment is to be covered by a loan from the Japanese Government through the Japanese Bank for International Co-operation.
