Bucharest Municipality to revamp Triumphal Arch with EUR 7 million
The Triumphal Arch in Bucharest (in Romanian, Arcul de Triumf) will be consolidated and revamped with funds of around EUR 7 million. The Bucharest Municipality will sign a financing contract with the Tourism Ministry in the country, to cover the costs needed for revamping works.
The astronomic observatory in Bucharest will also be revamped and consolidated with funds of EUR 2.5 million.
The Triumphal Arch in Bucharest, 27 meters high and located at the crossroad between Kiseleff and Constantin Prezan, Alexandru Averescu and Alexandru Constantinescu boulevards, was built in 1922 and renovated in 1936. The monument commemorates Romania's victory in the First World War.
