Bucharest prepares big Old Town cleanup, higher fines
Bucharest’s Old Town will have a new set of rules, which would also include high fines for businesses that do not keep the area clean.
Noise is another issue in the Old Town, which is filled with bars and clubs, and so are building facades burdened with unapproved advertising.
In its Bucharest cleaning meeting yesterday, the Bucharest City Hall representatives said they would tackle these issues, local Mediafax reported.
A new set of rules would be ready in maximum two weeks, said Bucharest Mayor Gabriela Firea. She announced a big cleanup for the Old Town, which is a tourist area, and one of the most crowded in Bucharest, especially during the warm season.
