05 March 2018

Bucharest City Hall will initiate an international competition aiming to find solutions for rehabilitating the Magheru Boulevard, one of the city’s main streets, according to mayor Gabriela Firea.

The municipality is willing to spend EUR 1 million on this competition.

“We want to have a new approach at least for the central area. In our budget project, we have initiated and we will soon announce an international solutions competition, worth EUR 1 million, through which we want to receive a project for rehabilitating the Magheru Boulevard, to benefit all dwellers,” Firea said at a real estate conference on Friday, March 2, according to local Hotnews.ro.

She added that it was sad the boulevard was deteriorated and no longer properly used.

Most dwellers and companies that used to live or operate in this area left because of the earthquake risk as many of the buildings on Magheru are old and haven’t been revamped in years.
