The Bucharest Running Club Association organizes a Stars' Cross Race on September 12 in Herastrau Park. The registration of the runners will start at 9,00 hours and the race itself, at 10,00 hours. A press conference will follow at the Bon Ton Palace restaurant in Herastrau park.

Among the stars who will run in the race are the Bucharest City Marathon ambassadors: Valeria Racila Van Groningen, president of the Bucharest Running Club, Doina Melinte, former athlete and head of the National Sports Authority, Andreea Raducan, also a former athlete, the European ping-pong champion Otilia Badescu and TV anchor Carmen Bruma.

Participation in the cross is free, but runners need to choose one of the causes supported by the Bucharest City Marathon and make a donation for one of them. The two causes are Viitor Plus, the association for sustainable development, with the program 'Adopt a tree', and Hospice Casa Sperantei, with a program for treating cancer patients.

Bucharest City Marathon, organized by the Bucharest Running Club Association, will take place on October 17 in Bucharest. This is the third edition of the marathon, which was included in the international street marathon calendar by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). Bucharest Running Club took part in three international marathons this year – Lago Maggiore, Rome and Rotterdam, where it sent runners and promoted the Bucharest marathon.

The partners of the Bucharest City Marathon are Raiffeisen Bank, Volkswagen, Hilton Athenee Palace, Becel, the Bucharest Municipality, the Youth and Sports Ministry and the Romanian Athletics Federation.
