Bucharest shopping center hosts Max Streicher’s Floating Worlds contemporary art exhibition
Sun Plaza shopping center in Bucharest is hosting, for the first time in Romania, the Floating Worlds contemporary art exhibition between March 25 and April 14, 2013.
The exhibition brings together five unconventional works by Max Streicher, namely the Floating Forest, Endgame (Coulrophobia), Quadriga II, Sleeping Giants (in picture), Alto-Cumulus. The exhibits are over-sized inflatable installations with different forms, that seem to come to life with the help of industrial ventilators and simple valve mechanisms.
Max Streicher is a sculptor and installation artist from Alberta, now resident in Toronto, Canada, who for over 20 years has worked extensively with inflatable kinetic sculptures and installation works. The artist has exhibited works in galleries around the world, including Canada, Barcelona, Paris, Cambridge, Prague, Berlin, Tokyo, New York. Read more about the artist and his works here.
