Bucharest Stock Exchange to launch Gold Futures contracts next week

The Bucharest Stock Exchange will launch Gold Futures contracts at the beginning of next week and is currently in talks with at least one market maker for this type of contracts, the BSE has announced. The Gold Futures contract is based on the price of a troy ounce of gold, expressed in USD. The contract will have a maturity in February, April, June, August, October and December, with a deadline in the second before last working day of each of these months. The final settlement price will be the gold reference quotation from the London Gold Market Fixing, as of 15,00 hours (London time).

Investors in Romania can trade Gold Futures contracts on the Sibiu Stock Exchange (Sibex). More details here. The BSE would be the second market where investors could bet on the price of gold. The current price of gold, according to London Gold Market Fixing, is of USD 1,417/ounce. More details here.
