Bucharest Stock Exchange triples profit in first half of 2011

Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) reported a net profit of around EUR 3 million for the first half of 2011, up 185.5 percent compared to the same period last year, due to good results in operational and financial activity, according to the institution.

BVB's turnover also increased by 28.4 percent between January to June, to EUR 2.60 million, due to higher trading revenues. The operating profit was EUR 1.01 million at June 30, 2011, while the financial profit was EUR 2.14 million. Net income per share was RON 1.63.

BVB's total revenues were of EUR 5.28 million, while the total expenditure accounted for EUR 2.08 million, according to BVB.
