Bucharest street book sale Strada de C’Arte: 5,000 books sold in three days

At its first edition, the 'Strada de C’Arte' cultural event, which brought bookshops to the street in Bucharest reported record sales of 5,000 books in the first three days. The organizers estimate sales of at least 10,000 copies before closing, according to the organizer, ”Carol I” Central University Library (BCU). The event also attracted a number of 6,000 visitors in the launching day.

“We had the joy of having more than 1,300 visitors only in the guided tours in the library, in the first three days”, said Mireille Radoi, General Manager BCU.

Strada de C’Arte also includes book launches, theatrical performances, film screenings, concerts and exhibitions of architecture, theatre plays like “Novecento” and “L-V: 8 – 16” being the most watched, while the Romanian film “The Bear” (Ursul) was the most appreciated by the public.
