Bucharest transport company changes bus, tram stations names to Colectiv

Following the tragic events that took place at Colectiv club in Bucharest on October 30, the Bucharest transport company RATB has decided to change the names of two tram and bus stations to Colectiv.

The stations that will be named after the nightclub are Pasajul Marasesti tram stop on Marasesti Blvd., which corresponds to trams 23 and 27, and the Pasaj Marasesti bus stop on Splaiul Independentei street, which corresponds to bus 312. Both stations are located close to the Colectiv club, which burned during a rock concert.

“Many of our travelers support us in this decision, as they have sent proposals with this idea, this being a tribute to the young people who have lost their lives in the tragedy at Colectiv club,” reads a statement of RATB.

A total of 60 people lost their lives after the fire at Colectiv club in Bucharest.  The local authorities are still investigating this tragedy.

Heads of Romania’s Emergency Situations Inspectorate dismissed.
