Bucharest wants to double number of tourists for City Tour route, launches new marketing campaign with hotels and restaurants

The Bucharest Public Transport Company RATB, which runs the double-decker buses serving the tourist line Bucharest City Tour would like to attract 60,000 passengers this year, double on last year, and has prepared a marketing campaign to promote the route. RATB's marketing campaign includes colored flyers and maps in both Romanian and English, as well as partnerships with hotels and restaurants, where its marketing materials will be available, according to B365.ro. Each of the tourist line's stops will also have a colored maps of the route.

A novelty this year will be the audio guide in French, in additional to the existing Romanian and English, and in the coming months an Italian guide will also be released.

Apart from finding the bus route map at their hotel, tourists will be able to buy vouchers directly from the hotel, and will not need to buy tickets when hopping on the bus. The partnerships between RATB and hotels can also include vouchers as part of the hotel's various service packages.

One ticket for an adult is RON 25, and for children, RON 10. The ticket is valid for 24 hours from the first validation, and the traveler can stop on the route, visit and then hop on the bus wherever they want (map below).

The route of the tourist buses, which run daily between 10,00 and 22,00, passes by the Village Museum, Arcul de Triumf, Piaţa Victoriei, Piaţa Revoluţiei, CEC, Palatul Parlamentului, Piaţa Unirii, Piaţa Universităţii, Piaţa Romană and Herăstrău park. RATB is currently looking for ways to expand the route to reach the Baneasa Shopping City in the northern area of Bucharest.
