Bucharest’s Triumphal Arch, 10% revamped, work to be completed in 2015
Consolidation and rehabilitation work conducted at Bucharest’s Triumphal Arch (Arcul de Triumf) is 10 percent done, and the project is to be completed in March 2015, according to Bogdan Hreapca, Investment Director of Bucharest Municipality, quoted by Mediafax.
The costs of the project amount to some RON 30.4 million (some EUR 6.7 million), of which RON 19.5 million (EUR 4.3 million) are European funds.
The consortia consisting of Romconstruct and UTI are working on the project.
The Triumphal Arch in Bucharest, 27 meters high and located at the crossroad between Kiseleff and Constantin Prezan, Alexandru Averescu and Alexandru Constantinescu boulevards, was built in 1922 and renovated in 1936.
The monument commemorates Romania’s victory in the First World War.
