Building two new nuclear reactors will create 16,000 jobs in Romania
The new nuclear reactors 3 and 4 in Cernavoda will lead to the creation of about 16,000 jobs in Romania, according to the Romanian Atomic Forum ROMATOM.
The Supreme Council of National Defense - CSAT last week approved energy minister Vlad Grigorescu’s report, which shows that the new nuclear reactors are an investment priority for Romania.
The completion of the two new reactors will increase the share of the nuclear energy in the national energy mix to about 30-32%, said Marius Gheorghiu, general direct of Elcomex IEA, the company that owns the presidency of ROMATOM.
The nuclear energy accounts for 27% of Europe’s electricity and 53% of the electrical energy without carbon emissions, Gheorghiu added.
