The first burger festival starts in Bucharest
The first festival dedicated to burgers Burgerfest takes place in Bucharest this weekend (May 22-24).
Nine restaurants will cook in this event and will compete in the Burger Battle on Sunday, the last day of the festival.
Eight of the restaurants are well known places from Bucharest, which sever burgers: Burger Bar, Old Brick Pub, Burger Van, Modelier, Burger Box, Grand Combo, SkyBar and Ludic. The ninth competitor is Bistro de l’Arte from Brasov.
The three judges of the competition are chefs Nico Lontras, finalist of Top Chef Romania cooking show, Florin Scripca (Chef Foa), a jury at MasterChef Romania, and Marius Tudosiei, owner of Bacania Veche, who presents a cooking show.
Amateur burger lovers will also have the possibility to compete in their own Burger Battle at Burgerfest, on Saturday.
The festival will also have concerts in the evening, by Romanian bands. A R.O.A. concert will close the festival on Sunday. The entry tickets to the event costs RON 15 (EUR 3.37) and can be purchased on site. The festival takes place at Verde Stop Arena, a former stadium located on Barbu Vacarescu Boulevard (No. 161-164).
The visitors are not allowed to bring food or drinks with them to the event. Umbrellas are not allowed either.
The festival opnes its gates on Friday, at 17:00. Saturday and Sunday the festival is open from 12:00 to 22:00.
