Canada sends six CF-18 jets to Romania
Six Canadian CF-18 left for Romania on Tuesday as part of Canada’s contribution to NATO’s measures to strengthen the security of allies in Central and Eastern Europe, according to the Canadian Defence Minister, Rob Nicholson, reports local Mediafax.
The six planes will join the Romanian and US air forces and will participate in “training missions”.
The CF-18 pilots are trained to perform air defence, air superiority, aerospace testing and evaluation and tactical support missions and are trained to engage both aerial and ground targets, writes Cbc.ca.
