Candy Crush Saga production company wants to reach team of 120 in Romanian capital
Game producer King, which created the popular Candy Crush Saga game, wants to add 50 people to its staff in Bucharest, to reach a team of 120 this year, according to the company.
This will most likely place Bucharest among King's biggest offices in the world.
The company added 44 people to its Romanian team in the last couple of months, after receiving a record number of 1,400 CVs for its job openings. King organizes around 20 job interviews a week in order to expand its team.
According to Mihai Sfrijan, head of King's Bucharest office, women have become more interesting in game creation, and made up a quarter of job seekers in recent months.
The company is looking for QA Practitioner, Data Scientist, C++ Game Developer (Mobile), Game Developer (Flash), Java System Developer, Producer, Test Automation Engineer and UI Designer for its Bucharest office.
King was set up in 2003 in Sweden and is headquartered in London. The company became famous in 2012 for its game Candy Crush Saga, which was first launched as a Facebook game. Later on it was launched for Android and iOS devices. The company opened its office in Romania in 2011, with four employees, and exceeded 30 in 2012.
Worldwide the company has 600 employees, with Stockholm, London and Barcelona being its biggest offices. King also has offices in Hamburg, Malmö, Malta, and San Francisco.
The company says it is a worldwide leader in casual games with more than 30 billion games played per month globally.
