Carpathian Tourism Cluster promotes Romanian events at Berlin fair, plans more tourism initiatives

09 March 2011

Carpathian Tourism Cluster Romania, a supra-regional tourism cluster in Romania, has launched several tourism initiatives to boost tourism development in the central Carpathian Mountains area and is currently promoting Romanian events at the tourism trade Fair ITB Berlin from March 09 to 13. The new initiatives support the promotion of cycling, rural and culinary tourism, as well as the development and promotion of large historical and cultural events to attract new tourists to the country. In 2011, the tourism cluster is co-organizer of the Medieval festivals in Bran, Rasnov, Fagaras and Brasov and initiator of several cultural festivals in rural areas. All events will be promoted for the first time abroad at the international tourism trade Fair ITB Berlin from March 09 to 13 2011.

The cluster has recently launched its first product “Mobile Cooking Romania”, which offers gourmet show events and cooking classes in spectacular places in Romania. A recently founded work group on cycling tourism is also working on the development and promotion of homologated cycling routes in the Carpathian Mountains area, which will be integrated into a national cycling route network.

The Carpathian Tourism Cluster is a network of regional and national stakeholders in the tourism industry in Romania. Carpathian Tourism Cluster Romania is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation (NGO), founded in 2010. Headquartered in Brasov, it includes tourism development associations, hotel chains, tour operators, universities and tourism service providers.
