Casiopeea Walk-Run against breast cancer to take place in Bucharest, Romania this September
A walk run against breast cancer, which raises money for people affected by this disease, the Casiopeea Walk-Run against breast cancer will take place Saturday, September 29, 2012 in Tineretului Park and is open to everyone.
The event includes a kids' race” (750m), a juniors' race (1.7 km), a men's race (6 km), a women's race (6 km), a women's relay (3 X 3 km) and a family walk (3 km).
The first edition of the Casiopeea Race against breast cancer was held in Bucharest in 2010 to promote the benefits of early detection of breast cancer and to raise funds for people affected by this disease. The organization has already donated 314 breast prostheses for women suffering from breast cancer, the largest donation ever made in Romania.
In 2011, more than 2,300 people turned out for event (a 50 percent increase in attendance) and helped raise EUR 15,000. For the first time this year, each registered adult will receive a voucher for a free breast ultrasound examination offered by Anima Clinics. The organization runs a similar event in Brasov (in picture).
The Anima clinics are run by Anima Specialty Medical Services SRL within the A&D Pharma Holding. A&D Pharma runs the Sensiblu chain of pharmacies in Romania and the Mediplus pharma distribution business.
