Cement producer led by current Romanian Economy Minister ups net profit

CRH Ciment, the most important company owned by the group CRH (the former Lafarge) in the local market, posted a turnover of EUR 189 million last year, up by 23% over 2014.

Current Economy Minister and deputy prime minister Costin Borc managed the company until November 2015, when Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos took him in his team.

The company saw a net profit of EUR 30.1 million in 2015, up by 40% compared to 2014. Its net profit margin thus reached 16%.

CRH Ciment is the second biggest construction materials producer in the local market after cement producer Holcim Romania.

CRH Ciment is the biggest company within the group CRH Romania, which had a consolidated turnover of EUR 200 million and some 1,000 employees in 2014.
