Chamber Music Festival at the Prejmer fortress, Romania

The fortified town of Prejmer, near Brasov, will host the fourteenth edition of The Chamber Music Festival Diletto Musicale. Starting on Sunday July 29, the festival will run for nearly a month and is organized jointly by the Evangelical Church in Prejmer, The German Embassy in Bucharest and the “"Saxon Siebenburgisch Stiftung" Foundation.

The series of concerts, already with a tradition since 1999, will include instrumental pieces by duos, trios, quartets and quintets, as well as vocal works.

The opening concert will be given by an ensemble from Sibiu, with Klaus Maertin Philippi (oboe), Ciprian Dancu (clarinet) Szilard Albert and Irina Dancu (violin), Alina Stavar (viola) and Kurt Philippi (cello). They will perform pieces by Mozart and works for oboe and clarinet.

At the end of each concert, according to the tradition, the audience and the musicians will have the opportunity to meet over a glass of plum juice or apple must, which will be served in the city garden.

The entry to the concerts is free, but participants can make a voluntary donation that will help to restore the church organ. The series of concerts ends on August 26.
