A program that supports the consumption of fresh fruits in schools across Romania passed the Chamber of Deputies yesterday.

Counties’ local budgets will financially support this program, which will also apply to kindergartens.

The Government will update every year the amounts paid to the program, the period and the frequency of distribution, and the daily value per pupil. The daily value includes the acquisition price, as well as the VAT, the transport, distribution and storage costs.

County council presidents, as well as the district mayors, have to check if the supply process goes well.
