Representatives of the Chinese company China Huadian Engineering, who have stated their interest in investing in the Romanian energy sector, met on Monday the Romanian Economy Minister Ion Ariton. “In the discussion with Minister Ion Ariton, the Chinese company representatives have stated their interest to invest in mining projects and in the production of coal based power”, write a statement from the ministry.

The company is part of the China Huadian Corporation. In late 2009, China Huadian Engineering Company had a capital of approximately USD 1.5 billion and annual sales of USD 1,35 billion, with an average annual growth of 20 percent. The company currently holds over 186 patents and received the medal for “advanced technology enterprise” for nine years in a row.
