Chinese group Sinovel, one of the largest Chinese producers of wind turbines, plans to enter a partnership with two Romanian investors to start manufacturing in Romania. A recent team from Sinovel's international affairs department visited the Romanian firm Faur, owned by Emil and Marius Cristescu. Initially, Sinovel wanted to open a factory in Romania, but later decided to produce at the Faur plant instead, according to Mariana Hristea, the GM of Faur, quoted by Mediafax.

“They want to produce in our factory, because they saw we have the necessary capacity. If we sign the contract with them, we will make important investments, because we will buy new production lines,” said Hristea. Negotiations are ongoing and a contract could be signed in the upcoming months.

Sinovel already runs two medium capacity projects in Romania and plans to develop wind parks.

In Europe, Sinovel runs branches in Warsaw, London, Madrid and Istanbul. It also runs subsidiaries in South Africa, India, Canada, US and Brazil.
