Christmas tree markets officially open in Bucharest
Local company Silva Group Romania officially opened seven Christmas tree markets in Bucharest, with a total surface of 30,000 sqm, the company announced on Monday, December 8.
The seven markets are located in Obor Market, Floreasca Boulevard, Kaufland Mihai Bravu, Basarabia Boulevard, Alba Iulia Square, Baneasa Shopping City, AFI Palace Cotroceni. Two other locations are opened in Voluntari and Brasov.
The Christmas tree markets will be open from December 8 until December 24.
The Christmas trees have been brought from private plantations, both local and foreign. The Christmas tree which come cut are one to seven meters high, while potted ones are one to four meters high.
Christmas trees for apartments, are 1.75 to 2.50 meters high and are priced between RON 60 (EUR 13.5) and RON 300 (EUR 68), depending on their quality, symmetry and colour, according to Silva Group Romania’s representatives.
Trees are displayed grouped on height and quality. The company’s employees also do the packing, carving and fixing the trees into holders
The company also sells Christmas trees online, on www.magazinuldebrazi.ro. Transport is free in Bucharest as well as in the rest of the country.
Silva Group Romania is one of the largest distributors of ornamental trees and shrubs, as well as Christmas trees in the country. The firm had a turnover of EUR 390,000 last year, according to official data.
Natural Christmas trees can also be bought in most do-it-yourself (DIY) stores, such as Dedeman, Brico Depot, Leroy Merlin, Praktiker, Hornbach and others. Prices generally start at around RON 50 (EUR 11.3).
