Cinema City ups revenues in Romania by over a third

Cinema operator Cinema City Romania increased its turnover by over a third last year, to some EUR 39.3 million, as the revenues from ticket sales and the number of viewers went up.

In 2014, the company had a turnover of EUR 30 million.

The British group Cineworld, which owns Cinema City, continued to expand its network in Romania, which also led to a 15.1% increase in the number of viewers in 2015. The group invested EUR 27 million to open five new multiplex cinemas in Romania last year and plans to open four more this year.

Cinema City currently has 22 cinemas with 198 screens and over 36,000 seats in Romania.
