Films on political topics screened at Cinepolitica Nights in Bucharest this month
Cinepolitica Nights, the event dedicated to documentaries and feature films with political themes, returns to the Peasant Museum Cinema in Bucharest this month. The event is scheduled for May 10-12.
This year’s selection includes two multi-award-winning Ukrainian productions, war dramas with SF elements, an Oscar-nominated documentary, but also a comedy with social accents starring Léa Seydoux.
The event will kick off on Tuesday, May 10, with Taras Tomenko’s documentary Terykony (Ukraine, 2022). The screening, scheduled to start at 18:00, will be the film’s first in Romania. The day’s program will continue with another Ukrainian production - Atlantis, directed by Valentyn Vasyanovych.
On Wednesday, May 11, the Cinepolitica Nights series will continue with the premiere screening in Romania of the documentary No Orders! directed by Szalay Péter (Hungary, 2020). Also for the first time in the country, Milos Pusic’s Working Class Heroes (Serbia, 2022) will be screened later the same day, followed at 21:00 by the local premiere screening of Ascension, directed by Jessica Kingdon.
The screenings of Dénes Nagy’s war drama Natural Light and Bruno Dumont’s comedy France are scheduled for Thursday, May 12.
Tickets for the screenings within Cinepolitica Nights are available online on Eventbook.ro and in the network of Eventbook partners at the price of RON 20 and RON 12.
