Cisco Romania appoints new general manager
US tech group Cisco has named Romanian Paul Maravei as general manager of its local subsidiary, Cisco Romania.
Maravei started his mandate on August 1, replacing Dorin Pena, who was promoted to a regional role, after managing the local operations for almost seven years.
Paul Maravei has over 20 years of experience in sales and management within the company. Before this promotion, he was responsible for the company’s enterprise sales in Romania.
He graduated from the Computer Science Faculty of the Bucharest Polytechnic University and joined the Cisco Romania team in 2000 as pre-sales engineer. From October 2011 to 2015, he held the positions of Business Development Manager for Global Enterprise and Product Manager for Hybrid Cloud for the US East Coast, leading Cisco's sales and service strategy for that area. In 2016, he decided to return to Romania and took over the role of Sales Manager for the public sector.
