Cluj local council: Bosch could take Nokia's place in Tetarom park in Romania

30 September 2011

German company Bosch could replace Nokia in Cluj Napoca, according to Alin Tise, the president of the Cluj county, quoted by local media. The local authorities are currently under advanced negotiations with Bosch, which could enter the Tetarom industrial park that Nokia will leave by the end of the year. Bosch's facilities would most likely be near Nokia's.

Bosch would hire around 1,000 people in a first phase. Previous Bosch statements pointed to an announcement of a new production facility in Romania set for the second half of this year.

Bosch has investments in three other Romanian cities: Bucharest, Timisoara and Blaj. The company's turnover was of EUR 161 million last year in Romania.

Nokia has recently announced its plan to shut down its factory in Romania by the end of this year, but said it was open to offering the existing space in the Tetarom park in Cluj – Napoca to another company, if needed.
