Coca-Cola’s sales volume in Romania decreased by 6% last year, from 148.5 million unit cases in 2013, to 139.2 million shuttles in 2014.
The main measurement for Coca-Cola, the unit case, represents 5.6 liters or 24 doses of soft drink.
It was the second year in the row when the Coca-Cola sales in Romania dropped, after the volumes went down by 9% in 2013, according to the company.
"In what remains a highly competitive environment, sparkling drinks declined by 7%, as higher volume in Sprite and Coca-Cola Zero did not fully offset the negative performance of the Coca-Cola brand," reads Coca-Cola HBC's financial report.
Worldwide, Coca-Cola HBC group’s sales volume decreased by 2.8% last year, from 2.06 billion to 2 billion unit cases. The net revenues from sales went down by 5.3% in 2014, from EUR 6.84 billion in 2013 to EUR 6.51 billion last year.
Coca-Cola HBC is the world's second-largest Coca-Cola anchor bottler in terms of sales volume.
