22 February 2011

Cocor Shopping Center's media facade brought the shopping center revenues of EUR 1.7 million last year, the company has announced. The revenues from outdoor publicity were 30 percent higher than in 2009. In December last year alone, the media facade brought the store EUR 400,000 in advertising revenues.

33.2 million cars passed by on the boulevard near the Cocor Shopping Center last year, an increase of 4 percent on 2009. The shopping center monitors the traffic on the I.C. Bratianu boulevard through a webcam. Live streaming can be viewed here.

the 30 percent increase in sales indicates a favorable trend for digital outdoor, on an outdoor market which has dropped by 15 percent. We have adapted to the crisis by offering packages with reduced frequency, and brands took into account the fact that we are the only outdoor channel which offers monthly traffic data,” said Dan Barbulescu, president of the Administration Council with Cocor SA, the company which owns the shopping center.

According to the company, drivers and passengers view the media facade between 45 seconds and 4 minutes, depending on traffic. People are exposed to messages on the media wall two to seven times a week. Cocor invested EUR 2.6 million in the media facade. The investment in revamping the entire building was of EUR 24.5 million. The store was reopened in October last year.
