Comedy film festival starts on Friday in Cluj

The International Comedy Film Festival in Cluj-Napoca begins on Friday, October 8, with a comedy film starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Bill Nighy, called 'The boat that rocked'. This second edition of the festival will feature 100 films and also a few novelties, the director of the Festival, Dan Sorin, has said. The event will last until October 17.

'The organizers selected the best comedies in 2010, some of which coming from countries known as benchmarks in this field, but also masterpieces of cinema. Of these, the best will compete for the Trophy of the Comedy Festival. Myriam Alexowitz has selected the films which will be screened in the festival.

Tickets and subscriptions to the event will cost between RON 8 and RON 70 for multiple entries. Go here for the films schedule in English. The first two films in the festival will be Grapes, a Czech Republic Production, and 'The boat that rocked' (also known as Pirate Radio), a UK-Germany-US production, a period comedy about an illegal radio station in the North Sea in the 1960s (see trailer below.)
