Competition authority: Romania’s telecom market, competitive and in a good shape
Romania’s telecom market is better shaped than other European markets, as it has four operators, relatively low prices and very good services, said the Competition Council president Bogdan Chiritoiu, quoted by Agerpres.
It is a competitive market, and further reducing the tariffs by the communications regulation agency ANCOM will help new players enter Romania. One of the changes Romania wants to make to the anti-competition legislation is investigating the cumulated impact of several small transactions, and not just big transactions. One such possible investigation would be into an operator buying several smaller suppliers, that could together hold a significant market share, said Chiritoiu.
