Romania's competition watchdog analyzes OTC drug production and distribution sector
Romania’s Competition Council has started an analysis of the OTC drug production and distribution sector, the institution announced on Monday, September 3.
The analysis targets the production of drugs sold without medical prescription and food supplements. The study will focus on the “structural conditions” of these markets, the relations between companies in these sectors and the legislation.
In case it finds competition failures in these sectors, the Council will propose changes to the existing regulations. However, the institution doesn’t exclude starting an investigation, if it finds hints of anti-competition deals between market players.
Romania’s Govt. will slap heavy fines on drug stores that charge too much for their products
