Construction work in Romania goes up by over 11%
The volume of construction work in Romania increased by over 11% in the first eight months of the year compared to the same period last year.
The capital repairs recorded the highest growth of over 16%, whereas the maintenance and current repair work went up by 13.8%. The new construction work rose by 9%.
The civil engineering buildings segment increased by almost 15%, whereas the non-residential building segment went up by 8.7%. Construction of residential buildings saw a lower increase, of only 2.6%.
In August, the volume of construction work rose by 5.2% compared to the previous month. The capital repair work recorded the highest increase of almost 14%, whereas the new construction work went up by 4.5%.
