Contest: Young Romanian film-lovers can take part in the Venice International Film Festival

The New Cinema of The Romanian Director (Noul Cinematograf al Regizorului Roman - NCRR) invites young Romanian film enthusiasts aged between 18 and 25 to take part in organizing the fifth edition of “28 Times Cinema” at the Venice International Film Festival.

The festival will take place between August 27 and September 6, with successful applicants having the chance to be part of the event’s young jury.

Launched in 2010, in partnership with Venice Days and the European Parliament, this initiative brings together 28 film-lovers from Member States of the European Union.

Those interested to participate must send, until April 26, a short CV in English, a brief statement of around 10 lines in which they describe the reasons  they should be considered the most suitable for this opportunity, as well as a description in English (of 5 lines) of three scenes form three movies recently seen at a cinema in Romania.

The CV and the rest of the documents can be sent at asociatia.macondo@gmail.com or diana@asociatiamacondo.ro.

Once arrived in Venice, the winner will have priority access to all screening in the Venice Days (Giornate degli Autori) section, will be able to watch the films competing for the LUX prize, will take part in discussions and debates with filmmakers, and will attend workshops.

The bookings, accommodation and travel costs during the event are included in the invitation.

Participants have to be aged between 18 and 25 and have a good knowledge of the English language (reading, writing and speaking). All texts to be sent must be written in English.
