Continental invests EUR 38 mln in research center in Romania's Iasi
German car parts producer Continental has invested over EUR 38 million in its activity in Iasi, eastern Romania, since 2006. The company started with 30 employees in 2006, and now has over 1,400 employees.
The Continental research & development center in Iasi includes the Chassis & Safety, Interior, and Powertrain divisions.
“The colleagues in Iasi manage to develop complex projects such as hybrid cars and automated driving,” said Christian von Albrichsfeld, Continental Romania GM.
He added that the company would hire about 1,000 people in Romania this year.
The turnover of the seven companies that Continental group has in Romania rose by 14% last year to EUR 2.3 billion.
