Greek telecom group Cosmote has invested almost EUR 1 billion in Romania since its launch in December 2005, growing from a 0.4 percent to a 24 percent market share, while its revenues reached EUR 468.6 million at the end of 2010. In 2005, Cosmote Romania's revenue was EUR 5.1 million.

At the end of 2010, Cosmote had 6.84 clients on the Romanian market, including Telemobil (Zapp Mobile) users, down 5.9 percent from 2009. Five years ago, the operator had 48,940 users, says the data of telecom regulator ANCOM.

Cosmote's revenues on the Romanian market increased 7.2 percent on the year in 2010, to EUR 468 million, said a report by OTE, the group which owns Cosmote. The mobile operator's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased by 12.7 percent last year, to EUR 73.7 million.
