The Dolj County Council announced that the number of flights operated from the Craiova International Airport (AIC) would increase by one third in the next period due to higher frequencies on five international destinations, News.ro reported.

Wizz Air will have nine flights a week on the Craiova - London Luton route, and additional flights to Rome Ciampino, Barcelona, Madrid, and Tel Aviv.

The most notable growth is for London, which is also the most popular destination to which Craiova is connected, according to last year's traffic data, when it recorded over 120,000 passengers. Thus, Wizz Air will increase from 6 to 9 flights per week on Craiova - London Luton route, starting March 31.

Operating frequencies will also grow on the following routes: Craiova - Rome Ciampino, Craiova - Milan Bergamo, Craiova - Bologna, Craiova - Brussels Charleroi, Craiova - Paris Beauvais and Craiova - Cologne.

At the same time, during the summer season, charter flights to Antalya will be made available by Prestige Tours - Calypso Tour, in partnership with Atlas Global, on Saturdays from June 1 to September 14 (last departure) as well as Christian Tour, having Blue Air as a partner, each Friday between June 14 and September 6 (last departure).
