Over 2,000 Dacia Duster cars recalled into service

13 July 2017

French car producer Renault has called back into service more than 2,000 Dacia Duster cars sold in Romania for electrical system failures.

The French company has notified Romania’s Consumer Protection Authority on this issue.

The problem relates to the horn circuit, which has been under-dimensioned and can cause the car overheating. This can even lead to smoke occurring in the horn area on the steering wheel.

Once the cars get back to service, the electrical harness is checked and remedied. The process takes about an hour. The company notified the owners whose cars were affected via letters sent by Renault Commercial Roumanie.

At the beginning of this year, Renault called back into service about 1,700 Logan and Sandero cars in Romania for possible failures of airbags and brakes.
