Dacia and Renault sales reach record levels worldwide
Dacia, the Romanian car brand owned by French group Renault, increased its sales by 2.5% in the first six months of this year, to over 297,000 units, according to data released by Renault yesterday. This is the highest sales level Dacia has ever recorded in the first half of the year.
Overall, the Renault group, which includes Renault, Dacia, and Renault Samsung Motors, increased its sales by 13.4% in the first six months, to almost 1.57 million cars.
In Europe, the group’s registrations continued to grow at a faster pace than the market. They rose by 14%, to 968,600 vehicles registered in the first half, and the market share reached 10.6%.
The Renault brand alone recorded growth of 15.6% thanks to the renewed range with Kadjar, Espace, Talisman, and New Megane. Clio 4 is the second bestselling vehicle in Europe and Captur is the leading crossover in its class in Europe.
Dacia’s registrations in Europe rose by 9%. The brand set a new sales record in the first half.
