Damen Shipyards Mangalia seeks to employ over 200
Damen Shipyards Mangalia, the largest shipyard in Southeast Europe, seeks to employ 227, including locksmiths, welders, tabulators, mechanics, and production foremen.
"The current production plan required additional skilled and unskilled workforce, with the possibility of on-the-job qualification. We want to grow our team, but more than that, we want to increase the activity at Damen Mangalia Construction Site so that, in the end, we can be a relevant player in the industry in the medium and long term," said Liana Constantin, Corporate Affairs Director of Damen Shipyards Mangalia.
Dutch defence, shipbuilding, and engineering conglomerate Damen Shipyards Group announced in February two ongoing offshore construction projects, the first being 70% complete.
The Damen naval shipyard in Mangalia is set to play a major role in the new projects. The shipyard is equipped with all the necessary facilities for handling very large structures, and it is also equipped with a semi-automated panel line, modern blasting and painting spaces, a 1,000-ton gantry crane, and other equipment that make it very operationally and economically efficient, according to Economica.net.
