Danone records lower turnover, higher profit in Romania
Dairy producer Danone Romania recorded a turnover of about EUR 105 million last year, slightly down compared to the previous year. Its profit, however, increased to EUR 3.5 million.
By comparison, the company saw a turnover of EUR 106.1 million and a profit of EUR 2.9 million in 2015.
Danone produces over 1 million yogurts a day in its factory in Bucharest. It uses over 55 million liters of milk every year, most of it from farms in Romania, according to the company.
“Danone remains a strong leader in the yogurt segment, as this category represents our core business," said Natalia Gelstein Kiss, general manager of Danone Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and the Adriatic.
The company plans large campaigns for the Activia, Actimel and Danonino brands for this summer, she added.
