Danube level increases in Romania, floods Galati promenade

The Danube’s level has exceeded the warning level by over 20 cm, reports local Digi24. In Galati, eastern Romania, the river flooded the promenade, while hundreds of hectares of land in southeastern Romania are also under water.

In Constanta county, Harsova is the most affected city, according to the same source. The river flooded 540 hectares of agricultural land and 30 hectares of pasture lands. Authorities have strengthened the protection dams to limit the extension of floods, and are using water pumps.

Problems were also reported in Tulcea county, where houses in several villages are threatened by the water.
