Death toll in Bucharest Colectiv club fire rises to 48

Another victim of the tragic incident at Colectiv club has died on Tuesday, November 10, at a hospital in the UK. The young man, who was transferred to a hospital in Birmingham on Sunday, had burns on most of his body, as well as respiratory tract burns.

The number of those who have lost their lives following the fire at Colectiv Club has thus reached 48.

Interim Prime Minister Sorin Cimpeanu said that the 48th victim will be repatriated in an emergency regime and the costs will be covered from the Government’s reserve fund, reports local Digi24.

Over 70 people injured during the nightclub fire are still admitted in hospitals in Bucharest. 14 of them are in critical condition, 7 are in a very serious condition, and 52 are stable.

35 patients have been transferred to hospitals abroad, but five of them lost their lives.

The tragic fire took place on October 30, at Colectiv Club in Bucharest, a popular club among young people. 27 people lost their lives in the night of the incident, and other 21 died in the following 11 days.
