Debenhams returns to Romania with a store in Bucharest
Fashion retailer Debenhams returns to the Romanian market, with a first store that could be opened in Bucuresti Mall in Romania’s capital, according to Mediafax newswire.
This move comes a year after Romanian businessman Octavian Radu closed down the last two stores of the brand and decided to drop the franchise.
“Debenhams re-enters the local market and negotiates a lease contract with Bucuresti Mall’s owners,” according to unnamed sources quoted by Mediafax.
Debenhams closed down the six stores via franchise in Romania. The last two units were in Plaza Romania and Bucuresti Mall shopping centers.
