French sportswear retailer Decathlon recently opened an online store in Romania where it sells more than 20,000 sports items, more than it has in the traditional stores.

The company aims to also reach Romanians who don’t have Decathlon stores in their vicinity, the company’s representatives said, according to Economica.net.

The company currently operates 13 stores in the country, three of which are in Bucharest.

Roumasport SRl, the company which operates the Decathlon stores in Romania, had a turnover of EUR 52 million, in 2013, 19% higher compared to 2012. The company had 362 employees last year.
