Romanian DIY retailer Dedeman opens new store with EUR 11 mln investment

Dedeman, the largest local retailer specialized in the trade of construction materials and interior design products, will open a new store in Satu Mare, in north-western Romania, this Friday.

The investment in the new unit amounted to about EUR 11 million, and will lead to the creation of 160 new jobs. The new store will cover over 12,700 sqm, and will include a 2,000 sqm greenhouse dedicated to plants and gardening products.

With this new opening, Dedeman will reach a network of 43 stores. The retailer plans to continue its expansion process and reach a number of 50 units in Romania.

Dedeman, which is owned by Romanian entrepreneurs Dragos Paval and Adrian Paval, had sales of EUR 981 million and a net profit of EUR 127 million in 2015.
