Owners of Romania’s largest DIY chain to further expand into real estate

27 March 2019

Romanian investors Dragos and Adrian Paval, the founders and owners of the largest Romanian DIY chain Dedeman, signed with NEPI-Rockcastle and local entrepreneur Ovidiu Sandor an agreement for the acquisition of The Office office building in Cluj-Napoca, unofficial sources told local Ziarul Financiar.

The deal, which was not completed yet, is evaluated at around EUR 100-130 million, making this the biggest office deal outside Bucharest, the daily reported. Romanian billionaire Ion Tiriac was also interested in The Office building, according to previous data.

This would be the second significant deal for the Paval brothers in the real estate market, after last year they paid EUR 200 million to Forte Partners for The Bridge offices in Bucharest's Orhideea area.
