Some 1,000 experts, entrepreneurs join hacking & cyber security conference in Romania

07 July 2016

DefCamp, one of the most important conferences on hacking & information security in Central and Eastern Europe, will return with a new edition this year.

Although the first edition of the conference, organized in 2011, gathered only 80 participants, this year’s DefCamp is expected to bring together some 1,000 experts, entrepreneurs, developers, students, and specialists to Bucharest.

For the new edition, DefCamp 2016 organizers have invited several experts from several countries such as Spain, United Arab Emirates, and the US. The event will take place in the Romanian capital on November 10-11.

Besides talks and sessions on cyber security, cyber warfare, identification and prevention mechanisms, the event will also include a series of competitions. For example, the 2016 DefCamp’s program will include the DefCamp Capture the Flag (D-CTF) final, which is the most important competition of white hacking in Central and Eastern Europe.

The event will also include a competition dedicated exclusively to Internet-connected gadgets, from refrigerators to fitness bracelets. Find out more about the 2016 edition of the event here.

Starting 2011, DefCamp has managed to bring together some 3,000 participants from 50 countries to Romania.
